MINUTES - REGULAR BOARD MEETING - February 27, 2018


The regular meeting of the Reedsville Board of education was called to order at 6:30 PM by Board President Andrew Maertz.  Present:  Board members - Andrew Maertz, Vicki Petska, Rick Hein, Todd Schneider and Carie Boldt.  Administrative team members - Tony Butturini, Michael Nate, and Joe Cook.  Others:  Shawn Stelzer, Erica Stelzer, Alanna Stelzer, Eric Roffers, Jeanne O’Leary, Steve O’Leary, Isaac Petska, Brandon Stelzer, Nichole Lorrigan, Andy Schanilec, Stacey Schanilec, Kent Kasten, Lisa Kasten, Michael Lodel, Matthew Strenn, Amy Hein, Kelly Sperl, Joy Spatchek, Landon Kasper, Tony Hills, Wade Kasper, Michael Boldt, Travis Grimm, Becky Grimm, Mike Horn, Terri Horn, Joe Novy, Derek Novy, Warren Wedepohl, Don Verbeten, Dick Stelzer, Lindsey Behnke, Chad Sebo, Raesa Sebo, Becky Taddy, Joe Delsman, John Ebert, Matt Koltz, Bob Ebert, Betsy Ebert, Elliott Ebert, Caleb Delsman, Rosanne Delsman, Jeff Christel, Becky O’Leary and David Norby.         


Mr. Andrew Maertz called the meeting to order at 6:30 and announced that proper legal notice of the meeting had been given.

   1. Motion to accept payment of bills made by Vicki Petska, seconded by Rick Hein. Andrew Maertz abstained.  Motion carried.
   2. Motion to approve minutes from the January 15 regular meeting with the addition of “All ayes.  Motion carried” on IV. D. made by Rick Hein and seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   3. Motion to accept updates to the Long Range Capital Improvement plan made by Rick Hein, seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   4. Motion to accept youth options request made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   5. Motion to accept Stephanie Carriveau’s resignation and approval of retirement request made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Andrew Maertz.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

   5. Board Members -1. Vicki would like to thank the coaches spouses and families.  She also mentioned some windows in the middle school that did not have handles.  2. Andrew is a representative on the WSMA board and reported on his WASBO meeting.

2. Adjourn into Closed Session at 8:00 PM.  According to SS 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.  (staffing). The Reedsville Board of Education reserves the right to return to open session.  Motion made by Rick Hein, seconded by Vicki Petska.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
3. Motion made by Todd Schneider and seconded by Carie Boldt to adjourn at  8:31 PM.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
