MINUTES - REGULAR BOARD MEETING - May 16, 2018


The regular meeting of the Reedsville Board of education was called to order at 6:29 PM by Board President Andrew Maertz.  Present:  Board members - Andrew Maertz, Vicki Petska, Rick Hein, Todd Schneider and Carie Boldt.  Administrative team members - Tony Butturini, Michael Nate, and Ryan McCulley.  Others:  Kathy Kasper, Ann Marie Kulas, Jeremy Aschenbrenner, Jessica Otto, Megan Dionne, Laurie Towne, Eric Roffers, Andy Schanilec, Stacey Schanilec, Amy Hein, Tony Hills, Stephanie Maertz, Karli Rueckl, Scott Dvorachek, Becky Dvorachek, Melissa Zipperer, Kari Miller, Joe Delsman, Jeff Christel, Bob Ebert, Austin Ebert, Elliott Ebert, Cole Ebert, Josh Schuh, Al Schuh, Bruce Behnke, Jenene Behnke, Warren Wedepohl, John Ebert, Don Verbeten, Mike Lodel, Bob , and Becky O’Leary.         


Mr. Andrew Maertz called the meeting to order at 6:30 and announced that proper legal notice of the meeting had been given.

   2. Motion to approve agenda made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Todd Schneider.  Motion carried.

   1. Motion to accept payment of bills made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Rick Hein. All ayes.  Motion carried.
   2. Motion to approve minutes from the April 23 regular and closed session meeting made by Rick Hein and seconded by Vicki Petska.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   3. Motion to approve the retirement of Mr. Jaszewski made by Vicki Petska and seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  The board would like to thank Mr. Jaszewski for his years of service to the Reedsville School District.
   4. Motion to approve the hiring of Karli Rueckl for the 7/ 8 ELA position made by Rick Hein, seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   5. Motion to approve the resignation of Al Schuh made by Vicki Petska and seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   6. Motion to approve Don Verbeten as head wrestling coach, Vince Denor as head boys basketball coach, Bruce Budysz as head girls basketball coach made by Carie Boldt and seconded by VIcki Petska.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   7. Motion to approve open enrollment in and out made by Carie Boldt and seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   8. Motion to approve special ed open enrollment space determination is full made by Carie Boldt and seconded by Rick Hein. All ayes.  Motion carried.
   9. Motion to approve the WIAA membership made by Carie Boldt and seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   10. Motion to approve the Tech Ed activity account made by Carie Boldt and seconded by Vicki Petska.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   11. Motion to approve keeping June 4th as Teacher Inservice made by Vicki Petska and seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried.

1. Adjourn into Closed Session at 7:27 PM.  According to SS 19.85 (1) (c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility.  (staffing compensation). The Reedsville Board of Education reserves the right to return to open session.  Motion made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Rick Hein.  All ayes.  Motion carried.  Motion made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Todd Schneider to return to open session at 8:06.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
2. Discussion/Action items
   1. Motion to approve teacher raises made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Todd Schneider.  Andrew Maertz abstained.  Motion carried.
   2. Motion to approve support staff raises made by Andrew Maertz, seconded by Todd Schneider.  Rick Hein abstained.  Motion carried.
   3. Motion to approve administrative contracts made by Rick Hein, seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried. 
   4. Motion to approve an extended contract for Heather Baugniet made by Carie Boldt, seconded by Vicki Petska.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
   5. Motion to approve school social worker contract as presented made by Rick Hein, seconded by Carie Boldt.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
1. Motion to adjourn at 8:09 PM made by Carie Boldt and seconded by Todd Schneider.  All ayes.  Motion carried.
